Offermobi Mobile Marketing CPA Network

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

The concept of mobile marketing on the Internet, using hand held mobile devices such as cell phones, smart phones, Bluetooth devices and other mobile products, is relatively new but growing fast.  Companies focused on mobile advertising offer businesses with a web presence targeted and personalized ads each month to help reach customers around the world.  Many mobile advertisers can help these businesses analyze data to better target customers.  Mobile marketing offers businesses an affordable and efficient way to reach customers and keep track of their responses.

Offermobi, the performance based mobile affiliate network started in April 2010, is the first company to offer businesses the opportunity to benefit from its services and strategies that can optimize mobile marketing growth opportunities.  The network offers potential advertisers and affiliates the opportunity to compare its search tools and features with mobile browsers, mobile devices, and computer search engines.  As of the end of 2010, the network reported a client list of well over 8,000 publishers and 60 brand advertisers.  Customers have seen conversion rates increase almost three-fold, and click rates have increased by almost 200 percent.

A business with a web presence that uses affiliate marketing gets the benefits of the technology without having to put out money to build a marketing plan of its own.  The types of affiliates are numerous, and include mobile landing pages, apps, SMS and pay-per-call campaigns.  Offermobi gives an affiliate access to the top mobile offers as well as an account manager to work with to make sure the advertising best fits the its mobile traffic.  The performance based pay provides payouts that are timely and generous.  Advertisers can get strategy and campaign consultations to help develop a mobile marketing campaign.  Offermobi buys the advertising media, and tests the ampaign.  Finally, Offermobi releases the campaign to mobile affiliates.

Offermobi provides several webinars to help a business begin to develop its advertising campaign or affiliate program.  The webinar topics include an introduction to the Offermobi network, how to get started with mobile marketing campaigns, and how to set up mobile campaigns on ad networks.  Another webinar focuses on developing strategies for offers and choosing the best ad network.  It also looks at strategies successful affiliates have developed.  Offermobi can help a business or an advertiser set up a mobile marketing campaign, manage it for the best impact, and get timely and generous payouts.

7 Simple Steps to Book Marketing

This quota may be increased by changing the MaxStringContentLength property on the XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas object used when creating the XML reader. Line 1, position 8736.

So, you've taken the plunge and written your book. Now what? It is time for editing, cover graphic and layout; then off to the printer or digital converter. If you have already done so, good for you. If not, then those next steps are critical to the success of your book. Be sure your title, cover and layout are strong enough to effectively grab the eye of your reading public. But, if you already have your book or eBook ready for distribution what do you do next? MARKET! Oh but of course. I hear you thinking perhaps even out loud, "Easy for you to say, but how do I do it?"

First, the distribution channel you chose will make all the difference in the amount of work ahead of you. If you are truly going it solo then you will have to upload your book or eBook to each and every available retail outlet; and there are a ton of them out there. Amazon and Barnes & Noble are NOT the only book resellers - and, these types of resale outlets are difficult to get into and expect a huge discount, usually 55-70%.

Alternatively, you could hire a small publishing assistance firm to help you. These types of firms can upload your publication one time and make it instantly available to the whole lot of distribution sources through the Ingram book catalog. What or who is Ingram? Well, they are just the biggest book catalog and where resellers turn to for the latest and best books for their outlets; yes, this includes Amazon and B&N. True, depending on the firm, they will keep 10-20% of your after discount and printing fee commission. But, for all the work they will save you and their ability to get your book listing in Ingram's catalog, this is peanuts.

So, now how do you begin marketing? The answer is not a simple one. In fact there are hundreds of ways available to the enthusiastic author. To choose those which you are willing to do is the task at hand. If you are independently wealthy, you might consider hiring a marketing firm. But for the vast majority of us, marketing our books falls deftly on our shoulders. Herein I will share a mere 10 ways to market your book or eBook.

1. Article Marketing

This avenue entails more writing, which, hey, if you are an author you are pretty good at and should be a piece of cake, so to speak. Write articles that speak about the subject of your book and are informative. Excerpts from your work should be considered for inclusion. Even if you want to write about a different topic than your book or eBook touches you can still use article marketing to your advantage. How? Easy, include the link to your work in the author resource section provided by the article house.

The key here is to not write and submit one article to one article house, but many articles over a period of time to many article houses. Some of the ones that I have used in the past are EzineArticles, Article Garden, GoArticles, Self Growth, ISnare, and Associated Content. Some of these are paid while others are free submission sites. Also, Free Article Submission Organization has a list of 1,000 submission sites if you are up to the task.

2. Newsletter Marketing

On the same direction, offering a newsletter or ezine can help you sell your book. This again takes a firm commitment as you will need to provide your ezine or newsletter on a regular basis, without fail! Content is key. If the content is not informative you will lose your hard sought readership; and readers are what you are after, after all.

Some newsletter/ezine providers are free while others are vastly costly. Three that I am familiar with and have used in the past are Constant Contact, Your Mailing List Provider and of course AWeber. The greatest benefit to newsletter marketing is building your list of contacts who read and enjoy your content. These are the readers who will most likely buy your books and eBooks once you make them aware of their availability.

3. Teleseminar/Webinar

Public speaking made easy. That is how I see these events. While giving you the opportunity to practice your speaking talents you will find these less costly and easier to effect. No hotel bill, no travel expenses, and a willing audience. However, scheduling of these events must fit not only your audience, but your schedule too. Too late and you may lose your opposite coast listeners; too early and you risk losing your target audience; working folks and parents.

If you don't know where to start looking for the right host or club simply ask around. Your friends might just know of a host that is the perfect fit for your subject. Be aware of and familiar with the technology that will be used. Will it be a video conference or just audio, such as the telephone provides? Will you be able to use a whiteboard or other interactive tools or just speak? Knowing your venue before your presentation will help you put together the right information in a manner that will engage your audience.

Be sure you know the audience that your host or hostess is in touch with. Don't just give the same information to everyone. Meld your topic to fit the audience. For example, as I mention in my book Presentational Skills for the Next Generation, if you are speaking to children you would use examples that they are familiar with while when speaking to a scientific convention you would use more technical terms and such. A singles group wouldn't be apt to care about your stories of familial significance as much as a single parent's group. The key here is to make the material relevant to your audience. Use examples that fit your listeners.

4. Public Speaking

Vastly similar to Teleseminar/Webinars is public speaking. However, this involves doing so in person. Whether you offer to be a guest speaker for pay or for free this is up to you. However, many groups and organizations need speakers. Each time you speak in front of a group you get better and more at ease. Besides growing into an interesting speaker these events give you the opportunity to sell your book to an eager public. The more you books you sell directly from the 'back of the room' or your 'trunk' the more money stays in your pocket.

Book clubs order thousands of units. So, you should definitely attempt to use these to market your book. Offer to speak at your next local book club meeting. If you can't afford to travel, offer to speak at your local clubs. Rotary, Chambers and such are just a few other ideas. Remember, they need you as much as you need them.

5. Blogging

Blogs are terrific tools for authors. They allow you to instantly interact with your audience. Be aware that you will need to offer interesting and relevant content on a regular schedule. If time is an issue for you, you can either hire a Virtual Assistant (VA) or use other blogs as in a Blog Tour. I probably don't need to list blog hosts, but WordPress is my blog of choice.

6. Book Trailers

With people's attention spans getting shorter and shorter book trailers are fast becoming an author's tool of choice. While costs can vary between one and several thousand dollars these can be just the spark that will sell your book. Consider carefully before you buy. Check out the quality of previous offerings; don't just go with the cheapest price. One that I have found to offer both good quality and affordable pricing is Master Koda, master marketer Kim Emerson's latest venture.

7. Press Releases

No marketing plan would be complete without the tried and true press release. Notice the 's' in the title. That's right. Not just one, but many are needed. Time them out; don't just put them all up at one time. Also, remember what a press release is and what it is not. It is a newsworthy information piece, not a sales letter.

There are a few companies who will help you write and submit your press release. Be sure to use both online and offline submission sites. Using fax blasting as well as online submission sites will multiply your efforts. Also, focus on your local area as they are more interested in promoting you than would be a newspaper all across the country.

This is just the proverbial tip of the iceberg. To ensure the success of your book or eBook it is up to you, the author, to promote your work. These are just a few to get you started. For more ideas search the web or hire a marketing firm that can further assist you to reach the Best Seller status you and your book deserve.

Why Content Is Important to Websites

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Is Content Really Important?

Without a doubt the world of content creation has finally reached its Internet maturity and professionalism. Just like Branding, content is the fingerprint of your image, authority, and trust. Both textual and visual content play a valuable role in user or visitor experience. Search engines use many types of algorithms during their crawl of a web site and the internet to detect quality and relationship of content to the theme of a web site and to ferret out the content that appears low quality or duplicated content.

The answer is practically everything that is written and/or read by a viewer and a search engine. Content includes:

No longer do technology gurus and fancy minded developers dominate the world of the Internet. Creative minds are now in high demand. Technical, Advertising, Marketing and general copywriters all play a valuable role in online promotional activity!

What will it do for Web Sites?

Properly written or developed and promoted content often raises conversion ratios by more than 100%! The ability to relate to the reader, create a sense of loyalty and authority, and achieve a very high response rate is an art not to be taken lightly. In addition, well developed content plays a big role in lead generation and secondary conversion. Lead generation funnels always contain content that informs and guides the visitor through the funnel process thus enabling the web site to capture email addresses and more.

Distributed content developed in the form of blogs, press releases, articles, and etc. also plays a large role in establishing authority and trust for your brand and gaining additional visitor traffic. This off-page strategy is also a key component to gaining inbound links from 3rd part websites.

Content Development Principles

One misconception of content is that by simply creating good content that is easy to read and on point a web design will have automatic success. Have you heard the "Content is King" theory? In reality, if the content does not incorporate a few very basic principles it probably will never be seen or read anyway.

Search Optimized: The content, whether a blog, page, article, or press release, must be theme and keyword optimized. For instance, when using WordPress each blog becomes it's own page capable of getting indexed as a listing in the search engines.

Linking: Each written content should have inbound and outbound linking properties as though it were a separate web page. A strong use of an RSS feed could be vital to the site content success rate for SEO and traffic generation.

Social Marketing: The content should have social share and like buttons or badges including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google +.

Conversion Funnel: Each content should be written for an intended purpose whether that purpose be for a downstream sale, email collection, reciprocity, opportunity sharing, and authority and trust building.

Branding in the Internet Age - It's Much More Comprehensive Than You Think in the Virtual Realm

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

You know, as a former Franchisor, I almost feel as if I could teach a class on branding. Still, in the Internet age it's a whole different ballgame, it's not like the "old world" at all. Business moves at the speed of thought, and now social networking algorithms are predicting those thoughts in advance. Do you ever wonder how all this came to be in just a couple of decades? If so, there's a great book I'd like to recommend to you;

"eBrands - Building an Internet Business at Breakneck Speed," by Phil Carpenter, Harvard Business School Press, Boston, MA (2000), 301 pages, ISBN: 0-87584-929-6.

The author of this book is the CEO of Critical Path, a company that indeed has some of the biggest names in Silicon Valley as clients, and some extremely successful start-ups names for bragging rights. Thus, what he does have to say in this book whether you go for every line or argument or not - regardless you should listen to the wisdom, soak in the ideas, and it will make you a better brander and marketer once you are done reading.

In many ways this book seems to be dual purpose, explaining strategies and successes, and highlighting some of his clients. There are case study chapters on iVillage, CD Now, Barnes and Noble (dot) com, Yahoo!, Fogdog Sports, and OnSale (dot) com. The conclusion of the book is quite telling - honest and up close and personal, you almost feel as if you were there in the heat of battle during the case studies, and the conclusion sums it all up with important take-aways.

Throughout the book he explains the competitive threats, importance of reputation, and the exponential growth of brands on the verge of chaos, but growing by leaps and bounds. I'd say this book and the book in its eBook form which is also available it perfect for PR professionals, online start-ups, small business people, branding consultants, venture capitalists, and anyone trying to guess which start-up with online sales is worthy of investing in.

The best part of this book for me, and yes, I do have somewhat unusual tastes, was the journey behind the scenes, really getting to know the decisions being made in real time by those nudging the brand's path, while attempting not to turn off the momentum as it grew. The comparisons were also great, especially coming from the various interviews of those in the know, and on the ground floor of that fast moving battlespace of online branding and marketing.

Would I recommend this book to you? Yes, I would and I also own a copy sitting on my book case in my personal business library along with my other top branding and online marketing books. It deserves a space on that select row. Please consider all this and think on it.

Rich Janitor or Rich Fake? Rich Janitor Review

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

It seems like only yesterday when we all would put or blood and sweat to make money to make minimum wage. But then the internet changed everything. The idea of sitting at home and while drinking your cup of hot coffee and watching the money roll into your account may seem a bit absurd, and that's what this guide promises you.

Now I like the idea, working at home that is. But when there's a chance to make money, scammers can sniff it out and make you hear what you want to hear: and the best part, for them, they make money.

Now I tried this product and boy was I angry. I got so excited I almost quit my job a few days earlier. I was about to show my boss I didn't need him anymore, and boy was I wrong. The book says "just click the button to make hundreds of articles, and click another to post them all". It's as easy as "1-2-3", the third step is, well, enjoy the money!

That was but of course far from the truth. As with every good idea, it gets saturated. Soon thousands of others use the same idea, and sooner or later the idea becomes trash. But not this one. Yes, you heard me: if you're planning on making a good $100-$300 daily completely on auto-pilot, this is for you.

I was surprised! I took about 45 minutes reading the manual and setting everything up. I was so eager to buy a new sports car, I checked every hour! But only a few dollars here and there, I thought of forgetting my dream of retiring. Then it happened, my articles were getting views like crazy, minutes after minutes the numbers were going up, and so was the profit.

So I guess you can call it a 'scam', seeming as though you won't be rich, but if you're looking for a decent amount of money, this is for you. Matter of fact I did quit my job, I scaled it up and I'm looking at a consistent $700 daily. It's not too bad, for spending about an hour or two a day. In fact my kids and wife are tired of looking at my face, and all they think is "just get a job".

Want to quit your job and become your ow boss? All doing this with a computer, which your probably already have? This guide [http://www.natworkforce.com] will get you there!

Summer Is the Season of Mobile Search

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

It's Summer and that means that people will start coming out of hibernation and frolicking more (at least in the Midwest anyway). From patio to picnic more people will be turning to their phone and performing mobile search to find things to do.

To capitalize, you'll need to be easy to find. That means it might be time to take a closer look at your mobile marketing strategy. Mobile marketing is more than just having a mobile website. It also means being easy to communicate with via a mobile device.

For example, when I land on your mobile website, chances are all I want to know is if you're open or not and how to reach you. So, your phone and hours should be front-and-center.

With more than 8.4% of all global websites visits coming from a mobile device, you can't risk losing me when I stop-by. Make it easy for me, please?

In the last twelve months, customers around the world have ordered more than $1 billion of products from Amazon using a mobile device," - Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon.com (July 2010).

I know, I know, that's Amazon. But you know what, those people that do business with Amazon also do business with you. They have been spoiled by brands like Amazon and now expect something similar from everyone. That's a trend that will continue.

As smart brands continue to raise the bar, stupid brands will appear even more stupid.

Does not take a rocket scientist to get going either. Here are a few quick tips on how to make your small business more mobile friendly:

Keep the most relevant information for customers on the home page and easy to find. Stuff like hours and a phone number are absolute musts.Consider building a mobile version of your website that can detect a mobile device when it's loaded and serve a special "mobile friendly" website. If not a website, consider at least building a landing page dedicated to mobile.Think about the 3rd-party sites that most often appear in search. Yelp, SuperPages, Facebook all come to mind. Make sure that you've updated these platforms as well. They're gonna show up so you might as well tend to them.

That's a good start.

Later in the game you start dabbling with SMS campaigns and QR codes and jazz like that. For now, just master these basics and you'll be more mobile in no time.

For more mobile usage statistics, check out this post.

Is SEO or Networking More Important?

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

It came as a surprise to me to learn the other day that SEO, Search Engine Optimization, is often considered to be the only way to get noticed online. While it would be wonderful to see your site on Page One of a search engine, I believe that beyond certain limits, SEO is a waste of time and money for most of us. In the mania for SEO, a lot of us are forgetting good old fashioned networking.

In the early days of the internet, before ecommerce became the focus of everyone's efforts, the sharing of information was the primary goal of bloggers and website designers. The first HTML website I created was for a rockclimbing club I belonged to. The site was a phenomenal success, as well as a joy to build and maintain. I didn't know the first thing about SEO at the time. In fact, I'm not sure the term had even been invented. So how was my site so successful?

Looking back, I can see that my accidental success was based on these elements:

Link BuildingA Monthly NewsletterInformative ContentSharingSite Layout and DesignPassion

I'm not sure what the order of importance was, but my practical efforts began with the site design. I undertook the task because I wanted to contribute something to the club and had just taught myself HTML and wanted to put my new skill to use. I threw myself into the design and layout of the site and didn't go online until I was satisfied with my results.

Proud of my results, I didn't want my website to sit there in cyberspace unread, so I started sending emails to all of the rockclimbing related organizations and businesses I could find. This list included university clubs and local clubs in climbing areas as well as businesses that sold rockclimbing gear. I left no one, large or small, out of my email "campaign." In other words, I started networking.

Rather than tell them that I'd scratch their backs if they scratched mine, I told them I had already added a link to their site in my links list and would appreciate it if they added our site to theirs. To my recollection, every single one of them obliged, including Petzyl, the rock climbing gear giant.

On the homepage of our website, I gave visitors the opportunity to sign up for our mailing list. What they got in return was a quick summary of what was in our monthly online newsletter and a link to its page plus a link to anything that had been recently added to our "Journal" - a collection of member contributed stories about rockclimbing adventures.  We had nearly a thousand subscribers by the end of the first year. That may not be many by today's standards, but the internet was in its infancy then and every single one of those subscribers was what in today's parlance would be called a "target market."

The end result of my efforts was a quadrupling of our club's membership and even online sales of our rockclimbing guidebooks, which I didn't really even try to sell. At the bottom of the homepage, I just directed them to a page where I listed all of the titles and places where they could buy them. Since many of our readers lived overseas and we had no overseas outlets, they emailed me asking if they could buy them.

Netscape was the search engine of choice back then, I think. I'm sure Google didn't even exist. My little site was always on Page One, right there next to Petzyl and the other big names in rockclimbing. I thought nothing of it.

The reason why I feel compelled to write this today is because I have a client who is passionate about offering investment opportunities to others, who he believes are about to be caught in the impending burst of the Australian housing bubble. He knows his subject well, but believes he needs to spend a fortune on SEO in order to get the word out. This is a fortune he doesn't have. He does have passion, though. As of this writing, he has already compiled a modest newsletter following and arranged lunch with the CEO of a major gold and silver depository in Australia. And he hasn't even launched his website yet!

We'll see what happens, but I believe my client is going to have a very successful site, on a meager budget. What he lacks in money and SEO savvy, he more than makes up for in passion and an intuitive understanding of the value of networking, both online and off.

"Think And Grow Rich" A Crock of Hooey?

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

That makes me laugh! Of course it isn't a crock of hooey. I have made Napoleon Hill's "Think And Grow Rich" a focus of study over the past several weeks. I am sure you are aware that I am seriously pro "law-of-attraction." The information in this book sets very comfortably with my way of thinking.

If you like coming away from a good book feeling edified and changed forever for the better I recommend reading this book that is the effort of a brilliant man who dedicated his life to gathering and compiling information about applying your mind to your actions to the benefit of not only your business but your life.

He is an excellent illustrator of the laws of thought and generating relationships.

I have to say that it is the beginning of "Think and Grow Rich" that grabs me and keeps me reading...every time I read it.

I just love the story about the man who decided that he wanted to mine gold. He staked a claim and got busy and FAILED! The story isn't ABOUT the failure though, it is about what he learned from that failure and how he applied what he learned to his life and how that facilitated his great success in the insurance industry.

The fact that he figured out how to learn from his big mistakes is huge enough, but the most inspiring part to me was the ultimate advice of: "Go to an expert if you don't know what you're doing."

It just isn't a really great idea to go into a project when you are an amateur and expect to be successful on your own. Ask and expert. Observe a Master. Apprentice under someone who has already been through the learning curve and come out on top.

This brilliant book, "Think And Grow Rich," has become a big part of my business life because of the huge effect it is having on my entire life. Desire, determination and ACTION! Add to that the development of understanding people.

A very useful and foundational lesson is to be smart enough and honest enough with yourself to know when you don't know everything. And there is more.

I am using a direct quote from the book because I can't come up with a better way to say this:

"Thoughts which are mixed with any of the feelings of emotions constitute a 'magnetic' force which attracts other similar or related thoughts."

There are a lot of folks out there reading "Think And Grow Rich" who come away thinking that all they have to do now is think the same thoughts over and over by rote (without putting out any effort) and they will somehow magically become a millionaire.

That is absolutely NOT what that statement means.

Here's the point: When you get on the right track you will begin to have idea after idea and those ideas help send you in the direction that leads to the realization of your goals. Following these inspirational thoughts that come to you leads to reaping the physical effects later.

I am going to repeat this critical point because it is SO important! Following these inspirational thoughts that come to you leads to reaping the physical effects later.

You should have new ideas popping into your mind all the time. Epiphanies that build upon and clarify your original goal and cause forward moving momentum. Action is required on your part.

It is now your turn to Look Up and Think and Grow Rich.

I will talk with you again later!

A Review of "The Social Media Marketing Book" by Dan Zarella

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

I decided to review "The Social Media Marketing Book" by Dan Zarella based on a recommendation from a friend.

I am going to give this book a two star rating, which may be somewhat controversial. I was excited to read a social media marketing book. I do not feel like this book lived up to that expectation. The author is obviously very knowledgeable about social media, but there is virtually no information in utilizing these resources for marketing purposes. I was a little concerned in the beginning when the author spent such a great deal of time defining websites like Twitter and Facebook, and went to great length with terminology like "friending" and "tweeting." I do not say this lightly, since I think most everyone would be familiar with this terminology, at least anyone with a basic Facebook page. Having said that, there is relevant information for the reader. The reader will learn many websites and terms than can certainly assist in increasing the learning velocity of a web "newbie," but that was not the book that I was expecting to read. I wanted the book to end in a climax of material that the reader would be able to combine into a solid plan to market or build a presence on the net that would translate into real dollars. If the book could have delivered more on the marketing aspect, I would have gladly given it more stars.

I believe that for the right reader, this book is relevant, right now. I think most people in their twenties, would find this book too basic, or entry-level. I do not think that in five years, this book will be relevant. The problem with technology and technology based information is that it becomes a victim to rapid evolution of technology. There are dozens of companies that I could site to provide a basis for the fact that a technology and social media applications have and will continue to change at such a rapid pace that one can only imagine the social media that will be available five years from now. MySpace was a pioneer in social media, and now it is dwarfed by Facebook. Facebook will eventually be dwarfed be the next big thing. I am not saying that social media will cease to be relevant; I think it will continue to grow. I just believe that this specific book will not be relevant. It is the nature of technology. The Law of Accelerating Returns suggests that progress will continue to grow exponentially as humans learn more; we also learn how to learn better and faster.

In terms of how this book is applicable to me specifically, I think any information that allows me to learn more about web based commerce and marketing will assist me in communicating effectively with my clients and prospects. I do think this is an area that I got a lot out of this book.

I was not aware that a business could have a presence on every social media site tied or integrated together. The author stated that you could set up Twitter to re-tweet information from other sites. I thought you had to check each site independently of the other, but that is not the case. In other words, update one site, and then it updates the others. This is an incredible way to more effectively leverage your time.

One thing I learned, which in retrospect I should have listed first, is the incredible amount of trust consumers put into online opinions and reviews. I was honestly shocked to learn that 70% of consumers trust online opinions as opposed to only 62% who trust television. Newspaper and radio are even further down the list. For this reason alone, I would suggest that any business person should want to have at least a minimal web presence which would include some aspect of social media. Online opinions are not only trusted, they are brand segmentation at its best. People researching online are customers, customers who are ready to purchase. The point is, the discussion is happening now; you just need to decide on if you are going to be involved, or is your competition?

I really like the idea of using social media to respond to customer complaints or issues. The most recent example of this would be the Dominoes Pizza ad campaign built around their new pizza, which came about as a result of consumer complaints. As a business owner, it is virtually cost free to make a video in response to a YouTube complaint. It costs nothing to respond to a friend on facebook, etc. Let's face it, if a customer cares enough to complain, they are telling you that they want to like your product or service. After all, many people will not take the time to complain. I will just quietly stop using a product and move on to another. Today, business owners have an easy way to provide customers a soap box to complain on, and then address the complaint head on and correct the issue. The author states that you should address the issue using the same platform in which the complaint was received. This was good information for me to learn.

I also like the idea of the CTA (call to action). A business owner can go online to a social media site, and encourage all of his or her customers to engage in an action that would benefit the business owner and hopefully the customer as well. You may, for example, suggest to all of your "friends" that they go check out your new video on YouTube, and then comment on it, or re-post it to another website. Not only does this exponentially grow your presence on the web, but it engages your customers. I think that a CTA operates much the same way. By an occasional CTA, you can create hundreds or even thousands of unpaid salespeople. And remember from earlier, your customers will put more faith in these little champions than most all of your other advertising outlets. This allows you to leverage your time and your money.

Another take away for me, and is just how trusting people are of online reviews and opinions. I am amazed that with all the time and money spent on television ads, people trust an anonymous online review even more. I cannot emphasize how big that is to learn. What that says to me, is you are either in, or out. This is happening. I cannot afford to put my head in the sand and pretend that it is going away. This last year, I had five customers that went out of business, because the economy slowed, and their overhead became unbearable. I think back and I do not think any of these customers were implementing a social media marketing plan. If they had customers linking to their website and providing reviews, maybe they could have kept their sales up with very little capital outlay on their part.

The most amazing thing is how much value users of social media are getting. This is all very inexpensive. I hear people every day talk about advertising, and how difficult it is for them to tell whether it is working for them or not. With social media, you can be up for next to nothing if you already have internet access. These sites are free. With increased competition, business owners need to make every dollar count.

This concludes my review of "The Social Media Marketing Book." I thing the material I useful, I just with there was more detail on the Marketing aspects of social media. I look forward to what will surely be a newer and more updated version in the future.

Book Summary: Crush It: Cash in on Your Passion - Written by Gary Vaynerchuk

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Crush it is a great "How to" book on using social media and being real with yourself on what you do. Gary is very passionate about what he does. The key to his success is blending who he is with what he does. This is very important because people's BS meter will go up if you are not genuine.

I can tell you from personal experience that I spend a lot of time working on work. I love doing it and it would be a cardinal sin, in my opinion, if I hated it. This book will help you understand and find your true passion and monetize it. If you hate your work then I suggest you stop doing it and start working toward something you love. If not, you will end up sleep waking though life.

Why is this important to me? Think about it. You spend roughly 2000 hours per year at work. This does not include drive time, traffic, at home preparation or extra hours at the office. This is roughly 30% of your life. Do you hate it? Unfortunately many people do hate their work and will not do anything to change it thus you end up trading valuable time for dirty green paper. This is a tragedy. What if you could meld what you love with what you do to make money? Seems like a simple enough question but most people won't put the sweat equity into making it a reality. I suggest you put the hard work in now and make a mid-term plan to do it and you can send me a thank you later. Crush it will show you what Gary did to make this a reality. Note: This requires work but if you are doing what you love then it doesn't matter.

This short book is packed with useful tips on using Social Media, your passion and your time to craft a wonderful career. I already touched on passion so I will profile three more things.

1. Great Content - Once you decide what to work on then do research and add value through content. If you read blog sites you will see what I mean by great content. This does not mean you need to be a literary expert to create great content. Think of it more as useful advice. People are driven by pain and pleasure so depending on your passion you either create the content to eliminate the pain or create it to create pleasure. Do this with energy and fire and good things happen.

2. Community - There is a difference between connecting and community. Think about this - how can you be true friends with 100,000 people? The real answer is - you can't. You can be acquaintances but true friends belong in YOUR community. This means that you invest in them just like they invest in you. This is a two way street and Crush it profiles ways from Blogs, Twitter, Facebook and other platforms to maximize the community.

3. Monetize - Quick piece of advice. Don't focus on the money. If you create great content, build a real community then the money will come. You can monetize your business several ways including - affiliates, product sales, intellectual property selling, advertising, teaching etc. The list goes on and on.... Remember - once you have the community and they are interested in your "Thought Leadership" then they will buy from you because it will help them.

The best marketing strategy according to Gary is to CARE. I agree with him. I can tell you from a standpoint of my business that we offer our clients a minimum of 110% guarantee. I know this makes them comfortable and I don't want them to waste their time. Our average order size is $25,000 so an extra $2,500 to them if they make the wrong decision shows that we CARE.

I hope you have found this short summary useful. The key to any new idea is to work it into your daily routine until it becomes habit. Habits form in as little as 21 days.

One thing you can take away from this book is to start building your community through Twitter by following people. When you do this daily based on your passion then you can have two way conversations in which you can help them based on your passion.

How Can I Win The Lottery - 3 Simple Steps - 100% Money Back Guarantee

I read a review recently written by an author of one of the most popular lottery systems on the market today on how to pick the winning lottery numbers. I have basically answers the question How Can I Win The Lottery? I have makes mention of all the mistakes lottery players tend to make when playing the lottery and mentions a few interesting tips about what players should avoid doing.

Step 1. I have suggests playing to a plan rather than randomly, have a timetable and sticking to it, playing on days that are not so popular. Get a system that's tried and proven and don't mess with it ie. put your own lucky numbers in for good measure, systems don't work that way.

Step 2. Don't go chopping and changing your numbers and lines. Stick with what you have and play them consistently, don't miss a game, keep playing until you get a result. Consistency is definitely the name of the game.

Step 3. Stay informed, newsletters relating to lotteries are a good source of valuable information that can assist you in making good choices. A good example of this is some advice about playing low ball games. If you have a choice go for 4 or 5 number games rather than 6.

Because the winnings are bigger more people are attracted to the higher ball games but it also means the winnings are shared among more winners. These lottery tickets cost more as well and the odds aren't as good as the smaller ball games.

Other important points mentioned were:

Make sure your system has a 100% money back guarantee. Make sure the lottery you enter is government backed, don't use computer generated numbers and only enter lottery draws that are live and televised.

Here's an interesting stat, the number 38 has been drawn so many times in the winning numbers that your system just has to include this number. Some academic research showed that a number of combinations are drawn on an unusually high frequency. Also the bonus ball is usually a high number 40 or above.

However I suggest that you disregard most theories does. I have suggests numbers are basically random, and winning should be based on more advanced practices similar to his own system. I also includes some good common sense practices like photocopying your tickets, put your name on each one and place them in to safe place for safe keeping not if, but when you strike the big one.

One of the more interesting aspects about his system is that it is the only one that removes "bad" numbers first. Apparently there are millions of numbers and number sequences that will never appear in any winning lotto game. Through years of research I've identified most of these, gets rid of them first and has managed to increase the percentage of successful numbers that will appear in to winning ticket.

Sometimes win rates with his system can be as high as 99%. I have admits it's a fact that the last 1% of random winning numbers not covered in his system can only be won by pure luck.

To find out how The World's # 1 Lottery System works click on # 1 Lottery System try this system it will give you a 99% chance of winning and a 100% Money Back Guarantee. To your success

It is imperative that you use this outlet if you are going to spread the word about your products and services. This article will show you simple things you can do yourself to market yourself online, specifically using this social media hub.

Your username is very indicative of who you are. Facebook will do you no good if you just let it sit there empty. Blogging is one great way to use your Facebook page, as it advertises your blog posts for you. Update your blog on a regular basis (no less often than once per week) and let Facebook spread the word.

When you put content on your page, make it something that is funny, useful or very interesting so that your followers will see it and share the link with their friends. It is a great way to go viral and get a ton of views to your Facebook page and ultimately to your website.

Success In 10 Steps - Don't Get toast Like A Pop Tart

"Don't get toast like a Pop-Tart", is how the Success In 10 Steps ebook starts out. I like that. Can 't figure out if it's because I' m still a big fan of Pop Tarts, the brown sugar cinnamon ones of course or if the statement is befitting online marketers. It happens a lot, folks looking to replace or supplement their incomes join an MLM company with high hopes. And then it happens, either they get bad or just no information at all on how to make their goals happen. Then they get frustrated and eventually quit. They then join the ranks of the multi level marketing is a scam crowd.

Now don't get me wrong, I know there are some bad companies being promoted by less than ethical folks out there. However I believe the industry in general has helped many families through out the years.

That's where Success In 10 Steps fits in the puzzle. This ebook is to guide to help avoid the pitfalls of the industry. The mission statement of this digital read is "Where You Learn HOW To Think, Not WHAT To Think".

This is all part of the Mentoring For Free folks offer. I've personally talked with a couple of these folks and they really seem interested in your success without any hidden agendas. Kind of refreshing don't you think. In my opinion they seem to be the watchdogs of the MLM industry, trying to do their best to keep it clean.

Success In 10 Steps, the digital version can be had for free, well not exactly, they do ask for your name, email and phone number. But that's a small price to pay for the info you receive in this ebook. You will be contacted in a very way Berenson. It's more of to "hi, how are ya, did you download and get a chance to read the Success In 10 Steps ebook an if so do you have any question or how can I help". Their mission isn't to sell you anything, just to help. I know, what a strange concept. The person who contacts you won't even mention their primary opportunity.

The Success In 10 Steps covers the following topics and more.
You Sometimes Think You're Nuts-Heck I've joined 100 MLM's.The Stupidest Lie They All Tell You.Your Warm Market have Ice In Their Veins.Your Best Cheapest Solution. The Real Truth About Network Marketing.Color To Success.Anatomy Of A Prospect's Mind.A System That Works. The Dark Side Of MLM.Never Underestimate The Cost Of Logic.

Michael Dlouhy of Success In 10 Steps tells that in the early 1990's I have joined over 100 MLM opportunities. I went on to track, catalogue, analyze and evaluate everything they did; products, compensation plans, marketing, distributor support, profitability and so on.

The outcome being the good the bad and the ugly of what goes on in the MLM industry as well as how to succeed should you choose to pursue this path to financial gain.

Success In 10 Steps is a great reference tool and The Mentoring For Free crowd are good people. This ebook should be part of your library.

Book Review - The New Rules of Marketing and PR Third Edition by David Meerman Scott

AppId is over the quota

The New Rules of Marketing & PR by David Meerman Scott

Recommend: Yes

Star Rating (1 through 5): 3+

Genre: Business/Marketing

There is no doubt about it that within the last 5 or 6 years corporate marketing/public relations strategies that are not adapting to the newest internet technologies are going to be left behind. But old mindsets are hard to change and even companies that have adopted some of the new cyberspace tools are having a hard time understanding the needs and behaviors of the new consumer/buyer/customer. In The New Rules of Marketing and PR, David Meerman Scott walks the reader through the traditional attitudes of marketing and PR activities and shares with readers an updated viewpoint on marketing and PR due to the shift in our present web-enabled communications environment.

The book spends a great deal of time validating the need for a change in attitude towards marketing and PR because of the way that consumers now get their information, which is shifting heavily towards internet and social media outlets. The New Rules of Marketing and PR shares several examples of how outdated traditional marketing and PR methods are becoming very costly and inefficient. The book also shares several examples of companies that have broken away from traditional marketing and PR to achieve positive results using new improved methods related to internet and social media.

The New Rules of Marketing and PR covers several key areas of web based communications approaches that are becoming industry standards in marketing for a business of any size. Scott also touches on the process of pulling several of these methods together to target your specific market and/or customer and again, shares some successful industry examples.

This book is currently on its third edition and I believe this speaks to the overall theme of the book which is that change is inevitable in today's virtual environment and companies that educate and experiment with the newest tools are quickly becoming the leaders in their markets.

Best impacts target selective audience

Companies that are looking to learn and expand upon their current marketing strategies and enhance their public relations in general are good reading candidates for this book. Overall the methods and processes described are generically described. A more detailed explanation of the processes needed to implement these methods are not covered in the book, but the book is comprehensive in regards to the various methods that comprise the "new" rules of marketing and PR.

The benefits of reading The New Rules of Marketing and PR are getting a 30 thousand foot view of an ever expanding virtual environments and being presented with some industry leading examples on utilizing the "new" tools and technologies.

It's unbelievable that today there are still PR companies or profitable corporations that are not aggressively focusing efforts into the latest and greatest internet and social media tools available, but according to Scott, this appears to be the case. So accordingly, I would recommend reading this book to those professionals and corporate executives that are still toying around with spending the effort or the costs of updating to these new strategies.

I have listed a couple of other high points for me from the book:

? An exceptionally well done Marketing Strategy Planning Template (and this template is available for downloading too - which is great).

? Valuable links to industry leaders in media press kits, media rooms and industry blog sites.

? Methodology and focus on buyer personas and marketing to them

Small business bang for their buck?

While I think this is a valuable book for those to understand the need for changing/expanding your marketing or PR strategies from traditional "interruption" style to inbound or content based web-enabled communications, I believe that the target buyer for this book was not the local small business.

Most of the clients I work with in the local business communities would not have a "PR" strategy or even would consider this aspect of marketing/advertising. Since there is a good deal of material in this book specifically related to Public Relations methods and enhancements to those methods, I think some of the readership would not appreciate this aspect of this book.

Additionally, along that same line of thought, I felt that most of the industry examples for social media, blog, video/audio content, etc - where mid to larger businesses that may have a substantial budget to experiment or initiate many of these types of methods.

However, I might add that just because your small business does not have a "PR" strategy today, after reading this book, some level of PR work done internally could net your small business some big benefits. For instance, using some of the ideas related to online press releases, media rooms, or even reaching out to your local newspaper could be a profitable endeavor. The mindset is that these PR strategies are for big businesses only, but one thing that the internet is excellent at, and that is equalizing ALL businesses based on valuable and useful web content as opposed to big PR budgets and advertising sponsors.

Summary

I am recommending this book overall to any person who owns, is responsible for, or interested in marketing and public relations trends as it relates to social and web-based communications. The book is detailed enough to cover the various tools and techniques, but broad enough to be educational/instructional but not technical.

There is some redundancy throughout the book and a few points that were overstated, but overall I thought the book was very readable, nicely formatted and had a good flow to it. It was pretty long (over 300 pages), which is tough for some of us short attention span learners. I felt that the material could have been covered easily in less than 300 pages, but nevertheless, I did not find it tedious.

I felt the book leaned toward the mid-size to larger corporate audience more than it did to my local small business friends, but I still feel the book is worth reading for both. Make no mistake though, once you pick a few methods or topics that interest you based on your business needs, further reading/learning will be required. This book is a general overview of the current web-based, content driven marketplace, not a manual for implementing new practices.

Free Book Summary - The Thank You Economy - Written by Gary Vaynerchuk

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

This book is about building a one to one relationship with your prospect to go from customer satisfaction to customer loyalty. For a quick review, customer loyalty means that they will not leave and even forgive mistakes. Customer Loyalty is the holy grail of any organization. Loyal customers do the following:

1. Refer more business by word of mouth.
2. Spend more money with you.
3. Are at the high end of your life time value
4. Forgive mistakes and offer real suggestions for improvement

Now the key is - how do we do this with Business Social Media? We will dive into this with Gary's book.

Simple! You need to understand this or you will lose to your competition. The good news is social media is wide open and most businesses, regardless if they are B2C (business to consumer) or B2B (business to business), do not use this effectively. This means that you can gain a huge competitive advantage over your competitors by simply being first.

Are you a business small business owner and think Social Media is not important? Perhaps you think it is not important because you do not have time to learn it. This is not uncommon in the small business world. I can attest to the fact that you can spend so much of your time in the business that you forget to work ON THE BUSINESS.

Do you run a large organization and simply afraid of the openness of Social Media? This is not uncommon. You see corporate speak that do not allow employees to use Twitter, Facebook and other social mediums. The problem here is that people are talking about your brand and you don't even know it. Take the blinders off and get educated. This has to start at the top of any organization. We will dive into more details now.

I normally dive into the book contents at this point but need to add this section to drive home a point. Here it is in BOLD - TAKE OFF THE BLINDERS AND EMBRACE THE SOCIAL MEDIA PARADIGM AND THE THANK YOU ECONOMY

1. Stupid Quote 1: "This telephone" has too many shortcomings to be seriously considered as a means of communication." Western internal memo 1876
2. Stupid Quote 2: "While theoretically and technically TV may be feasible, commercially and financially it is an impossibility." Lee De Forest, radio pioneer, 1926
3. Brilliant Quote: "If I had a nickel for every time an investor told me this wouldn't work........" Jeff Bezos, Founder of Amazon

Ok - on with the show....

There are excellent examples in the book on how Social Media can enhance your business or leave you in the dust. I will touch on three points:

1. Thank You Economy Defined - Gary makes a point here to be real with your customers and engage them. This is a pull strategy and not a push strategy. Being real means apologizing when you screw-up, being humble and having a mindset of the customer. This does not mean simple push great deals and your products and services to your customers all the time. What Gary shows, time and again in the book, is that when you build a relationship then the money follows. People understand passion and sincerity. The bull shit meter will go up if you engage people and you are not sincere.

2. Ping / Pong effect - This is where traditional marketing (TV, Direct Mail, Radio) meets Social Marketing (Twitter, Facebook etc. like engagement and marriage). To put this in real perspective, think of traditional marketing as a one night stand. Companies spend millions on a 30 second Super Bowl add and hope they earn enough money to pay for it. As we have seen in the dot.com craze this did not work and wasted millions. Now if you view traditional and social marketing in the same plan then it becomes a marriage. You do a TV spot but with a call to action that people need to go to Facebook, Twitter etc. to continue the chat. This is an effective call to action. This allows you do measure your results and know the numbers of highly engaged prospects / customers. Once this happens then it is up to you to CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION and build a relationship.

3. Avaya Example: This really cemented it for me. We sell our software solution business to business and it is hard to visualize how Social Media will work. It is easy to see the benefits if you are a doctor or dentist. You have the content and expertise to engage your patients through social media to grow your business. The good news is this is wide open because 95% of doctors & dentists don't do this. Avaya sells solutions to businesses. In the book, Gary profiles how Avaya engages their user base and some of the payoff. In a nutshell, they use Twitter to answer technical questions and head off complaints before they mushroom. Avaya received a $250K deal because a happy Twitter subscriber recommended them.

If you have ever thought, that the average person can't achieve success and realize their dreams then I recommend you read "Beach Money". A book about "Creating Your Dream Life Through Network Marketing," written by one of the most inspiring and most humble people I know, Jordan Adler.

Show me any network marketing leader who hasn't struggled in his or her career. Most of them had to overcome tremendous obstacles on their way to the top. There's no such thing as overnight success. They usually have been years in the making.

"Beach Money" is such a story. Jordan Adler's very personal story of struggles and failure and overcoming obstacles until he finally reached success. It will grab hold of you and you won't be able to put it down until you reach the last page.

Jordan's honest, giving demeanor comes through in "Beach Money" where he shows you a step-by-step success formula. The very same formula he used himself to grow an organization of thousands of people and generate a massive passive income. The kind of income you only work for once and get paid over and over again.

That is "Beach Money," money you get paid whether you get up in the morning or not; whether you're out shopping at the mall, traveling across the country or just lying on the beach.

Once you start reading his book, you will find that Jordan is much like you. If fear of failure or doubt that you'll ever have any success in network marketing has a grip on you, let Jordan's words inspire and encourage you. He knows what you're going through because he has lived it. He has been there and done it.

He will show you that you already have everything you need to succeed in network marketing. You just need a little push, a shift in your thinking and a roadmap to follow. That's all!

"Beach Money" will show you how you can grow your network marketing business even if the only time you have available is your lunchtime. And it will show you how you can turn your yearly income into your monthly income.

Jordan Adler is the top income earner in one of today's fastest-growing network marketing companies. But in spite of his tremendous success, he is very much down to earth.

So go ahead, grab a copy of "Beach Money." Let it inspire you. Let it encourage you to push on and to never, ever give up until you reach the lifestyle of your dreams.

So Beach Money is on the top of my list of book recommendations if you have a network marketing business. However if you want to create massive growth for your business, make sure you learn how to generate leads like the pros. You may be surprised and even shocked how well this can work for you.
