Are You Frustrated With Network Marketing?

Network marketing can be very frustrating for some people. Many people struggle for years in their business and some give up entirely which is heart breaking to see. But, there are reasons for that. First of all, people need to understand that network marketing or internet marketing is very difficult. It is not as easy as some people pretend it to be. A lot of that is due to the environment that we are in. Let's not forget that the challenges of network marketing and internet marketing is exacerbated by the continued sluggish economic condition of the US, and the really frightening economic outlook for the US. This creates a lot of anxiety among people, even the most brave and entrepreneurial minded business owners succumb to that fact. Indeed, the sluggish economic condition of the country is like a huge pillar of dark clouds that is never ending. There are bright and shiny moments every now and then, but the experience of the last four years show that we are nowhere near the end.

Having said that, there are other factors that contribute to the high rate of failures in the industry. First, it is important to note that, internet marketing is a vast field. It is so vast and so huge that few people can get their head around it. So, why is that important? It is important because if one wants to excel in a particular field, you have to understand a lot of the intricacies of the field, you have to understand the overall outlay of the territory, and all the important components. This leads me to conclude that the number one reason why people fail in network marketing is because they don't understand internet marketing. And because they don't understand internet marketing, they don't know what they have to do to succeed.

This is what creates the frustration with network marketing. So, when you hear someone saying to you that network marketing don't work, or it is a scam, just remember this. The person who is saying that to you is someone who has failed because he/she did not understand internet marketing and did not acquire the necessary knowledge and expertise necessary to succeed. In order to get results in network marketing, a lot of things have to happen. Keep in mind that we are all not going to succeed on the same level, or at the same pace or to the same extent. There are those individuals with exceptional skills and talent, who knows internet marketing like the back of their hands. Those individuals will be enormously successful comparing to others. It is very important not to measure your success based on someone else's success.

What you can do is to focus on improving everyday, depending of your level of knowledge, it may take a few months, six months, nine months or a year before you adequately understand internet marketing. At that point you will be able to implement a strategy that yields results. So, not only do you have to understand network marketing and internet marketing, you also have to acquire a lot of knowledge and a lot of skills. There are literally hundreds of things you have to learn, skills you have to acquire and expertise that you have to master.

People fail, because of lack of knowledge, lack of skills and expertise which in the end amount to not knowing what to do. There is no clear strategy for what they're doing. In internet marketing, you need to have a clear strategy in order to yield results. The strategy begins by understanding the vast field of network marketing and internet marketing, and how you will rally people to your corner. Another critical component for success is TIME AND EFFORT. This is very simple and need no explanation. It takes a lot of time and effort to succeed on the internet. So, if you are not putting a significant amount of time and effort in network marketing and internet marketing, don't expect to succeed, because it simply won't happen.

There is a learning curve to internet marketing. Someone who is very good with programming, who knows search engine optimization, how to build websites, and advertisinig on the internet will no doubt be at a great advantage. So, take your time with it, learn everything you need to learn and acquire skills and expertise in the field. This is important because, you need to have Value Added Expertise that you can put on the table in order to rally people to your side, to your business.

Social Boom by Jeffry Gitomer - Big Bang for Your Buck or Just Another Dud?

Social Media 101 plus some

In this book the title promises the reader that reading this book will help you to "master" business social media, which is a huge claim since mastery of anything implies that you are the best of whatever it is. Reading this book will not do that unfortunately. But what this book will do is provide creative and sound fundamentals to start implementing a social media practice into your business right now.

As I mentioned in previous book reviews, I judge a book's value by the number of colorful little tabs I have marked in the book while reading. These tabs represent new ideas or concepts that I want to make a special note of or parts of the book that I would like to visit again to research further. This book had a large number of tabs! Many of these tabs introduced me to a new idea or a tip, which is great. However, in the case of this book many of these tabs represent concepts that are already widely known but still a fundamental idea I wanted to note.

I'd like to give the author a break regarding subject matter complexity since you never really know what level of expertise the reader has on social media. It is always good to go over the fundamentals, which Gitomer does, but he also gets about as complex as you can with this topic as well. As someone who has been studying social media for quite some time, I understand going over fundamentals like this get's tedious and boring, but it is still worth revisiting. There is very little new in the book but Gitomer does add a few fresh ideas to tackle your social media plan. I particularly liked the chapter dedicated to LinkedIn which is, in my opinion, an important social site for business. LinkedIn often gets left out of other social media books or is just barely mentioned, but in Social Boom the features and approaches for LinkedIn networking are outlined well.

Social Boom reads well for a motivational business tool book. The chapters are short, the tone is aggressive (sometimes a little arrogant), and the author provides breaks in the reading with special hints, tips or single page power messages. The flow and organization of the book is perfect for a learning tool because it's a fast paced read. The author uses highlighting, shadow boxing, large fonts, and bullet pointed lists to the max, but it works on a topic like this where the learning strategy is about repetition and focus, rather than in analysis.

Summary

Overall I liked the book, specifically for getting refreshed and re-motivated with my social media plan. There was nothing earth shatteringly new but nevertheless a good fast paced approach to cover the basics and Gitomer does bring some fresh perspectives and ideas to the table. The book only took me one evening to read, so it moves fast due to the salesy big font styles and short, but valuable, chapters. This is a great book to give to your employees or just get for your own library. Keep it on the shelf, place mark your favorite highlights and re-visit from time to time to pick up a little motivation.

Forum Marketing Will Help You Bring Targeted Traffic To Your Website

When people ask me how they can get targeted traffic to their website, I often answer back with a question. What have you been, and what are you doing now to get targeted traffic and visitors to your site. I'm always complete surprised by all of the different methods people use, often costing them hundreds if not thousands of dollars in memberships and fees. Equally as surprising is that most people don't ever consider the positive effects of forum marketing.

Forum marketing in my opinion, is one of the best ways to get really targeted traffic to your website. What are forums? Forums are online communities where people with the same interests or hobbies get together and chat. You can think of it as a sort of digital message board. You create an account, post a question or comment on a topic, and others can respond to you. It's being part of the conversation. And you're having that conversation with like minded people who are interested in exactly the same thing. In fact, with enough work, it could easily surpass many of the often used marketing methods.

What better place to engage potential customers or clients than on a forum what is right on the topic of the product or service you are offering? I can't think of any better way to actually talk to your potential customers. Rather than making a sales pitch to them, you can engage them by asking questions. What they like or dislike about a product or service. How they would make it better or what they would need in order to choose one service or product over another. The responses you'll get will often surprise you, and give you a truly unique insight in to the minds of the people you are trying to target. If you're on a video game forum for example, and see that a lot of people are looking for a specific accessory for a game system or perhaps a game they've wanted for some time but can't find anywhere else. You can find the products they are looking for, chat with them about the products, and then ask them to visit your online store, where you have that product in stock.

If they have questions or comments about specific products or services in your industry, there is no better way to make yourself an authority by answering their questions and responding to their comments. You'll be viewed as the go-to guy when it comes to information pertaining to the topic, and your recommendations will go a long way, even if you are recommending your own product or service.

Forum marketing helps you build trust with your customers. If you're out there and giving out valuable information for free, they will be more compelled to come to you when they need more - even if it means having to pay you. They'll trust you already. They can look at your interaction on the forum and will be able to see that you know what you're talking about, and that you've helped other forum members in the past.

Equally as important however is also the fact that forum marketing can be completely free. It won't cost you anything to join and be part of the conversation. You don't have to pay to help potential customers. All that's needed is a little bit of your time. And what better place to spend some of you time than on a forum filled with people who are interested in, talking about, and wanting to buy what you have to offer.
